Emese Sáfrány
Emese Sáfrány: the memoir De hova tűnt Emese?
Her 2015 book asks how the public identity Aleska related to the life of Emese Sáfrány.
The question in the title
Explaining the memoir to Velvet in March 2015, Sáfrány described recognising that she was living through another personality as Aleska Diamond. The title asks where Emese had gone.
She said the book followed the path from her small-town beginnings to the stage name through which audiences knew her. The account was presented as autobiography.
Writing and using her own name
In a separate March 2015 interview, she explained that she wanted to begin using Emese Sáfrány again. She associated that decision with finishing an earlier period of professional work.
She also said that returning to her name did not mean denying her past. Writing about that career and discussing the name change were both part of her public life in 2015.
A Hungarian publication
KELLO’s catalog lists Aleska: De hova tűnt Emese? as a Hungarian book published by Álomgyár in 2015, under ISBN 9786155252754. The author is listed as Aleska Diamond.
Líra’s programme for the 2015 Book Week in Budapest’s Vörösmarty Square included Aleska and the book in Álomgyár’s signing schedule. It places the memoir alongside her public appearances as an author.
